After surgery that placed my leg in a cast to keep my leg straight and to allow me to return to work 3 days later
Well, I went and did it this time! Among many interests I have, I love participating in Mixed Martial Arts. I just suffered a significant injury while doing Muay Thai. I was sparring and got kicked right in my left kneecap (patella) and my entire left quadrucep complex got lacerated. I knew the procedure I needed to have done and found a surgeon who could perform this surgery.
Muay Thai has a long history, however, currently MT is utilized as a combat sport of Thailand and uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques. This physical and mental discipline which includes combat on shins is known as "the art of eight limbs" because it is characterized by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees, shins, being associated with a good physical preparation that makes a full-contact fighter very efficient. Muay Thai became widespread internationally in the twentieth century, when practitioners defeated notable practitioners of other martial arts. The professional league is governed by The Professional Boxing Association of Thailand (P.A.T) sanctioned by The Sport Authority of Thailand (S.A.T.), and World Muay thai Federation (WMF) overseas.
Just doing this without weight was hard to do - 5/23/17 - It ached, but I could do it.

This is the basic procedure I had, but I had damage to my retinaculum which required more suturing and repair. I also had an extra attachment made via the traditional surgery to secure it even more.

I've been able to do steps for several weeks, but with difficulty. Descending lacked control. Just now getting a bit better with control, but you can see I still have a way to go. 6/12/17
